Wellingtonians now have two more weeks to submit feedback on a proposal to build a new electric bus depot in Lyall Bay after an error caused all feedback forms before 17 April to be deleted.

Last month, Greater Wellington requested feedback on the bus depot, the design, and the route buses would take.

An online form went live on 13 April, but each response was deleted due to a glitch in the backend of the Metlink website, until the issue was noticed and immediately resolved on 17 April.

As an old feedback form was left open, it contained a 'required field' which was 'left blank' each time a response on the bus depot form was submitted.

The website incorrectly believed the form to be incomplete and refreshed the page, deleting the response.

Greater Wellington Regional Council transport chairperson Thomas Nash said the council had delivered flyers to notify all residents and businesses in the area and shared the information to the local business improvement district and residents' association.

It had also put up posters at all bus shelters from the pool to the Airport Retail Park, and updated its Facebook advertising.

He said the closing date of the feedback form had also been extended until 24 May to provide ample time for original and additional submitters to share their thoughts.
