Within six hours, 10 people, including teenagers and a Killer Beez gang member, were arrested for fleeing police in Auckland ovenight.
It began with two arrests after reports of a stolen car on Mount Wellington Highway going through to Ōtāhuhu about 6.20pm.
The Police Eagle helicopter watched as the car headed south on the Southern Motorway.
It was being driven at a high speed and exited at East Tamaki, inspector Gaylene Rice said.
The car was abandoned on Huia Road in Papatoetoe. Two occupants were arrested as they fled on foot.
In a separate incident, about 10.40pm with the help of the Eagle, three people were arrested in Manurewa for speeding along Rowandale Road.
Also in Manurewa, a 26-year-old member of the Killer Beez was arrested at a house after being spotted riding a motorcycle at high speed in Bairds Road, Ōtara about 11.25pm.
"Police elected not to pursue and the Police Eagle helicopter took over monitoring the rider," inspector Rakana Cook said.
"He has driven to a Manurewa address where he was arrested without incident and his motorbike impounded."
He has been charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop, and is set to appear in Manukau District Court next week.
And in another incident after midnight, four youths - all aged 15 and 16 - were arrested after travelling on Pakuranga Road in a stolen car.
"The vehicle has continued driving through Pakuranga and into Auckland City where it was eventually spiked, with the assistance of Eagle overhead," Cook said.
"Great teamwork and a coordinated approach has led to these people being apprehended quickly.
"Let this be a reminder that Police are continuing to hold those choosing to engage in this dangerous behaviour to account."
