Police cordons near Taupō's Huka Falls have been removed after the area was blocked off by armed officers this afternoon.
Police said they were searching for a person known to them who is wanted in relation to a number of arrest warrants.
The police cordoned off Huka Falls Rd after a call-out to the area just after 4pm.
Police would not say if the person they were seeking was armed and are continuing their enquiries.
