A person has been found dead on a Dunedin street.
Police said it received a report around 6am this morning that there was a body on Bond Street.
When emergency services arrived, a body was found and the person pronounced dead.
"We can reassure the community we are not currently seeking anyone else in relation to this incident.
"Police acknowledge that this has been a traumatic event for those involved, we will continue to provide support for those affected by the incident."
Police said officers would be making inquiries on behalf of the coroner.
