All northbound lanes on the Wellington urban motorway are open after a Metlink driver had a medical event and stopped on the road.
Metlink said a bus driver experienced a medical emergency which forced him to stop.
Waka Kotahi reported on X, formerly Twitter, the bus had blocked two northbound lanes of the road, just before it splits into State Highways 1 and 2 at Ngauranga about 9.30am.
In an update this afternoon, it said delays were easing.
Earlier, Fire and Emergency had reported the bus was on fire.
But Metlink acting general manager Bonnie Parfitt said this was not the case.
She said the Mana Coach Services driver experienced a medical emergency while driving and stopped against a safety barrier on the motorway.
Parfitt said the bus was not in service and no passengers were on board.
She said the driver was now being cared for.
