Laneway 2010

Laneway Festival 2010 was a new addition to the ever-growing summer music festival calendar. It started in Australia, spilling from a club into the lane outside - hence the name. It's a central city affair - in Auckland it was down the end of town, at Britomart Square.
Performers included post-punks Echo And The Bunnymen, dark young pop minimalists The XX, The Dirty Three, Daniel Johnston, and a host of local bands too, including re-united Flying Nun band The 3Ds.
Music 101 host Kirsten Johnstone and reporter Emma Smith went along.

Black Lips at Laneway Festival 2010
