Spiced hot chocolate
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon good quality drinking chocolate (or finely chopped chocolate)
- 1 cup of milk
- Vanilla bean paste or similar
- Pinch of chili powder
- Pinch of cinnamon powder
- Orange
Method
- In a small saucepan heat the milk and spices to near boiling (approx 85 degrees).
- Remove from heat and add the chocolate, leave for 30 secs to allow the chocolate to melt
- Whisk vigorously
- Return to heat but do not let it boil, continue to whisk until the drink has regained its heat
- Pour in to pre warmed espresso cups
- Grate a little orange rind to garnish
- Enjoy!
