A headlong race for piano trio.
Performed by NZTrio: Amalia Hall (violin), Ashley Brown (cello), and Somi Kim (piano).
Australian composer Matthew Hindson's Rush was inspired by the scurrying passages in Felix Mendelssohn's String Octet.
He says: "It is much more the spirit of Mendelssohn's string writing that was influential, particularly the last movements of his string quartets and String Octet, rather than any sort of harmony or melodic invention."
