I, Time... is, the second movement of a three movement work for orchestra based on the poem 'Time' by Allen Curnow.
The poem has inspired the form, content and rationale of the work as a whole. The titles of the movements: (1) I am.... (2) I, Time.... (3) Am island, am sea, am father... are taken from meaningful junctures in the story implied by the poem; the structure, flow and expressed language in the movements are creatively represented in musical terms by pace, texture and timbre.
