Voices New Zealand has a new show which includes puppetry - a first for the chamber choir.
When Light Breaks is described as 'an emotional journey through song' and based on the five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.
The performance is a reimagining of early music, in particular pieces by Bach, alongside some contemporary New Zealand pieces including a new commission by Leone Holmes.

Jacqueline Coats is directing the show, and talks with Bryan Crump about the thinking behind the themes and the use of puppets. The title When Light Breaks is a reference to music's ability to help us get through tough times.
