NZ-born violinist Benjamin Baker and regular duo partner Daniel Lebhardt have just released an album on the Delphian Records label.
1919: Coda features violin and piano sonatas by Leoš Janáček, Claude Debussy and Edward Elgar, along with pieces by Lili Boulanger - all composed during the 1910s.
Benjamin, who's based in London these days, still has strong ties to New Zealand: he's Co-Artistic Director (with fellow violinist Justine Cormack) of At the World's Edge, a chamber music festival in Southern Lakes.
He was one of the finalists in the 2017 Michael Hill International Violin Competition, and when Bryan Crump caught up with Ben recently to talk about the new album, he began by asking him how much of a difference that had made to his career.
