Dr Jonathan Griffith is in New Zealand to lead two free performances of Karl Jenkins' popular choral work, 'The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace'.
He's brought his choir, the Jonathan Griffith Singers, who will be joined by local singers and the Auckland Symphony Orchestra.
The Choir travels around the world performing concerts.
"We have singers primarily in the 40-50-60-70 age range," says Jonathan, "but they have a very youthful heart, are very adventuresome and open to new experiences. That's what makes it exciting."
He says 'The Armed Man' is special because it's a work that audiences can relate to.
"In the UK, it's performed very frequently and many community choruses use it as their fundraising concert for the year... They can virtually guarantee a sell-out performance."
