Young pianist Ben Kennedy is this year's recipient of the Upper Hutt Grand Piano Trust Scholarship.
He talks with David Morriss about his upcoming concert and, thanks to sponsorship by Jack Richards, a trip to Switzerland next month where he'll be taking part in piano masterclasses given by renowned pianist Edith Fischer as part of the Semaine Internationale Piano et Music de Chambre.
Ben Kennedy's piano recital is on Saturday 21 July at Whirinaki Whare Taonga, Upper Hutt. There's a pre-concert talk by RNZ Concert's Bryan Crump at 1pm, followed by the concert at 1.30pm.
