Andrew Gourlay makes his debut with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra tonight conducting a programme called French Twist. Named by Gramophone magazine as their 'One to Watch', the young conductor compares the sensual and ecstatic music of Claude Debussy's Prélude à l'Après-midi d'un Faun with the claustrophobia of the Bahamas where he grew up.
