Our series covering the BBC Proms continues. Today it’s the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andrew Manze. We’ll hear symphonies from Haydn and Vaughan Williams which offer two contrasting musical portraits of London. Boisterous urban energy pulses through Haydn’s final Symphony, No. 104, while Vaughan Williams shows us the city in more contemplative mood.
