You wouldn’t expect Bach to be the soundtrack for a tap dance, but the New York Philharmonic has shown it can be.
Pianist Conrad Tao and tap dancer Caleb Teicher duet together for Bach’s 'Goldberg Variations' in a new video that’s appeared on Youtube by the NY Philharmonic.
Tao performs on a Steinway and Teicher provides accompaniment by dancing on wooden pallets
The performance was recorded at the Steinway Factory in New York.
Bach’s 'Goldberg Variations' is one of his most renowned keyboard works. It consists of an aria and 30 variations.
The variations were named after Johann Gottlieb Goldberg, a German harpsichordist, organist and composer of late Baroque/early classical music.
