This weekend the period instrument orchestra NZ Barok plays three concerts in Auckland, and their featured soloist is the young double bass player Eric Scholes, playing Carl Dittersdorf’s second double bass concerto.
Eric studied at the prestigious Peabody Institute in Baltimore, and since returning to Auckland he’s made a name for himself in ensembles as diverse as the APO and the 50s covers band The Rocking Roller-Coasters.
He joined Nick Tipping in the studio to talk about his musical travels.
