The Reith Lectures
Five programmes
'Securing Freedom' is the overall title of this year's BBC Reith lecture series and it is being addressed by two women on opposite sides of the world with two very different sides of a familiar story - the struggle for liberty and its defence.
(3) Baroness Eliza Manningham-Buller, the former director-general of MI5, the British security service, gives the first of her three BBC Reith Lectures, entitled "Terror". She reflects on the lasting significance of the 9/11 attacks on the United States ten years ago and asks … Was it a terrorist crime? An act of war? Or something different? (BBC)
