Connecting people who love music and people who make music.
To mark the 75th anniversary of the NZSO, 10 New Zealanders were asked to choose a piece that sparks a strong emotional connection. 10 musicians from the NZSO give their own intimate insights into how that music works.
(6) Emma Dias, a Year 12 violin student at Queen Mary College in Wellington chooses Passacaglia (after Handel) by Johan Halvorsen as a piece which has sparked an emotional connection. She explains how the music was first introduced to her by her teacher, NZSO violinist Gregory Squire.

Crescendo
Connecting people who love music and people who make music.
To mark the 75th anniversary of the NZSO, 10 New Zealanders were asked to choose a piece that sparks a strong emotional connection. 10 musicians from the NZSO give their own intimate insights into how that music works.
Singer and documentary maker Morgan Albrecht explains why Elgar's Cello Concerto, although very different to the style of music she makes herself, will always have a special place in her heart. This episode also features NZSO violinist Elizabeth Patchett.
