The American Samoan member of the US Congress has been urged to run for governor in the year 2004.

Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin, who this was re-elected to the post in Washington for an eighth term, says the proposal is an option.

Faleomavaega was the Lt Governor under the late governor Aifili Paulo Lutali before winning the Congress seat 14 years ago.

He says for the time being he will focus on his role in Congress.
