Fiji's National Federation Party has criticised the Labour Party for signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chinese Communist Party in Beijing last month.
Part of the agreement, which was signed by the Labour leader Mahendra Chaudhry, provides for the establishment of better relations between the two parties.
They also agreed to promote cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, cultural and other fields and to promote peace and development in the region.
The NFP says this move by Labour contradicts their claim to being advocates of democracy and champions of the working class.
The NFP's general secretary, Pramod Rae, says this collusion between Labour and the Chinese communists is unethical and immoral.
