One of Samoa's senior Independent opposition MPs, Sililoto Tolo Tua'ifaiva, has died suddenly over the week-end at his home in Moata'a village.
He is the second politician in the current five year parliamentary term to have passed away this year.
The 67 year old was one of the two MPs for Vaimauga west constituency in parliament who got re-elected for a second term in politics after last year's general election.
The late Sililoto was a loyal supporter of the Samoa Democratic United party former leader, Le Mamea Ropati.
He became an independent opposition MP when he resigned the party caucus in support of SDUP's former leader.
The MP and other members of his extended family were banned from taking part in further village affairs as a result of a court case hearing in the Lands and Titles court last month
