More candidates have been announced in French Polynesia for next month's election of two members of the French assembly.

Beatrice Vernaudon has confirmed that she will try to defend her seat in Paris which she had won as a member of the Tahoeraa Huiraatira Party.

She has had disagreements with her party which will back a new candidate in her place.

The Rautahi Party, which has emerged following rifts within the Tahoeraa, has chosen as candidates Jean-Christophe Bouissou and Emma Algan.

Another minor party, Porinetia Ora, has selected Orama Manutahi and Teiva Manutahi.

The opposition's Oscar Temaru has also announced that he will stand.
