Leading Fiji Methodist rails against decree legalising gay sex

A former leading Methodist Church leader in Fiji has reacted strongly against a new decree decriminalising homosexuality.

The interim regime issued the decree.

A former President of the Methodist Church, Tomasi Kanailagi, says the Bible is clear that homosexuality is ungodly.

But another church minister, who doesn't want to be named, says he's open to the new decree, saying all individuals have rights in a free world to decide how they want to live their lives.

However he says it remains a tough issue for the church to handle.
