The Tautua Samoa party president, Papalii Tavita Moala, the former CEO of the Samoa National Provident Fund, has resigned as party president.

Speculation is mounting to the reasons behind the resignation but former MP and chairman, Lealailepule Rimoni Aiafi says the public will be informed soon.

However, a new party president has been chosen.

He is university lecturer and a Tautua candidate in next year's general election, Afualo Dr Woods Salele.

Tautua Samoa celebrates it's first year anniversary this Friday and party officials say its candidates for the 2011 general election will be announced.
