The court of appeal in French Polynesia has upheld the suspended jail sentence given to the former head of the territory's tourism promotion agency, Brigitte Vanizette.
She has been given a one-year suspended sentence and a fine of 55,000 US dollars for financial irregularities committed in 2002.
In particular, she was found to have made large payout when she left the agency.
Her finance director at the time, Pascal Geraudie had also been given a suspended sentence but the court of appeal has now quashed it.
