Papua New Guinea's deputy prime minister has stormed into the Supreme Court with police officers to demand the arrest of the chief justice.
Sir Salamo Injia, who was overseeing a contempt hearing against the deputy prime minister Belden Namah, quickly left the court.
AAP reports the police have yet to arrest Sir Salamo, who is in his council chambers.
Mr Namah said the chief justice will be charged with treason after he refused to obey his order to resign.
The government of Peter O'Neill has repeatedly tried to suspend Sir Salamo, whom it accuses of bias.
