Fiji have named 19 foreign based players in an extended squad to contest the Pacific Nations Cup.

The Flying Fijians begin their PNC campaign against Japan in Lautoka next weekend and coach Inoke Male says, after a disappointing end of year tour, they need to perform.

"We're under lots of pressure to win this PNC, to get our standing here, improve our standing in the IRB world rankings as well as the fans out here in Fiji to support, and financially we need the sponsors for our rugby teams, especially the fifteens."

The extended Fiji team go into camp this week with Inoke Male to announce a final squad on Friday.
