The partially built Momi Bay Resort in Fiji, whose construction was stalled seven years ago when the New Zealand company behind it collapsed, has been relaunched.
Fiji prime minister, Frank Bainimarama, says the relaunch is a cause for great celebration after mismanagement had effectively killed it off.
He says the government, which has made a substantial investment, is breathing new life into the complex that had come to resemble a ghost town.
Mr Bainimarama says the Marriott Resort at Momi Bay, which is an hour's drive from Nadi, is due to open in two years and will become one of the brightest jewels in the Fijian tourism crown.
He says it will be a significant boost to the economy, generate more than 400 new jobs during the construction phase and another 500 when the resort opens for business.
The prime minister says there will also be significant economic flow-on effects, with many sub-contractors benefitting.
