Tonga typhoid cases since January now 12

Travel for people from a Tongan village has been restricted after the discovery of typhoid there.

The latest victims takes the number of typhoid cases in Tonga since January to 12.

Those affected range in age from 5 years to 62.

The ban prohibits people from the village travelling to any other village for food catering or to drink kava.

Radio Tonga reports that the bans which had been placed on other villages have since been lifted.
