The former head of Tahiti Football, Reynald Temarii, has rejected suggestions of wrongdoing over the allocation of the Football World Cup.
Last week, French investigators detained him in Papeete in a probe into the awarding of the 2018 and 2022 tournaments.
In 2015, he was already questioned by police in Tahiti - two weeks after FIFA banned him for eight years over a controversial payment.
Mr Temarii said he hoped the courts would soon, and definitively, rule on the matter.
He said he had been labelled guilty without proof as a result of manipulation involving the media.
