Construction workers at the Imperial Pacific Resort in the Northern Marianas have been placed on "temporary leave" as the company and its main contractors, Pacific Rim Constructors, renegotiate a new contract.
Imperial Pacific said construction of the 329-room resort will be ongoing, even without the Pacific Rim construction workers.
Casino Commission Edward Deleon Guerrero said in lieu of the Pacific Rim workers, over 1,000 of the approved H-2B visas will be utilized for the construction.
