Taiwan's President, Tsai Ing-wen, will stopover in Hawaii during her trip to Pacific allies this week.
Starting Thursday, Ms Tsai will lead a government delegation to Palau, Nauru and the Marshall Islands.
Focus Taiwan reported that her itinerary will also include a visit to Hawaii on the last two days of her eight-day trip.
In the Marshall Islands, she will attend the first Pacific Women Leaders' Coalition Conference.
Ms Tsai will also deliver a speech before Nauru's parliament.
