Vanuatu's former aid negotiator, Victor Rory, who was found guilty of obtaining tens of thousands of dollars through deception, has been jailed for eight years.
Rory had fraudulently received $US130,541.
The Daily Post newspaper said when he was the chief negotiator for European Union Aid Funds, 48-year-old Rory transferred the money to his private account.
Justice Oliver Saksak rejected Rory's application for special consideration on health grounds and found him guilty on all 40 grounds.
