85 people are in hospital, including 23 in intensive care.

62 people have died in the pandemic whose progression has slowed in recent days as the curfew introduced last month appears to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The outbreak has forced the closure of the schools on Raivavae next week.

This week, Tahiti Nui TV was forced to cancel its news programmes for the first time because of the pandemic's impact on staff.

All but 62 cases were detected after the borders were reopened in July and mandatory quarantine requirements were abolished.
