Ninety-three percent of women reported feeling unsafe on the streets of the Solomon Islands capital, Honiara.

Plan International country manager Ella Kauhue said the survey found sexual harassment was rife.

They also felt at risk from theft, verbal harassment and the number of drunk people.

Ms Kauhue has called for better education, as well as for public transport providers and the City Council to work with women to make public spaces safer.
