New Caledonia will go to the polls on Sunday to elect new provincial assemblies.
They will provide the members of the new Congress which in turn chooses a new government for a five-year term.
Nic Maclellan of Islands Business magazine is in Noumea and he spoke to Walter Zweifel as campaigning is about to wrap up.
