After last month's historic referendum result, Bougainvilleans' expectations of independence remain high.
An 97.7 percent majority of Bougainvilleans voted for independence from Papua New Guinea in the non-binding referendum.
To come into effect the result must be ratified by PNG's national Parliament, following negotiations between the PNG and Autonomous Bougainville governments.
