Bougainville's new leader is now installed in a caretaker capacity until the swearing in of the MPs following the conclusion of the election in the autonomous Papua New Guinea region.
The victory by the former Bougainville Revolutionary Army commander, Ishmael Toroama, has been greeted with delight by many.
