Cook Islanders will go to the polls on August the 1st.
The Queen's representative Sir Tom Marsters this afternoon dissolved parliament and announced the election date on national radio.
The chief electoral officer, Taggy Tangimetua is urging all Cook Islanders on and off island who would like to register for this year's election or change or correct any details to contact her office.
