Tokelauans refute anti-vax narrative of community affairs

Concerns are mounting over the spread of misinformation by the only family living on Tokelau's Nukunonu who have refused to get vaccinated against Covid-19.

They have been placed under Tunoa, which roughly translates to a form of house arrest, by community elders since August last year.

The general manager for the office of the council of Nukunonu, Asi Pasilio spoke with RNZ Pacific reporter Lydia Lewis, about the cultural complexities surrounding the case.
