As New Zealand's elections draws near, it is anticipated that more eligible youth will enrol to vote.

Currently, only 60% of youth aged between 18 - 24 have enrolled, whereas other age brackets have enrolment rates of 80% or above.

UNICEF Aotearoa Young Ambassadors are hoping to increase those numbers as well as urging government leaders to step up and do more to tackle climate change, both in New Zealand and the Pacific.

Nele Kalolo, who is a proud tama'ita'i Samoa spoke to Pacific Waves host Susana Suisuiki about how UNICEF Aotearoa Young Ambassadors are encouraging more youth to have their say this year.
