Fiji's President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere opened the 2024 parliamentary session in Suva earlier this week calling on MPs to "put the people first".
While the key message to the elected representatives on both sides of the House was to work together, the President raised concerns about "unscrupolous politicians" creating racial disharmony.
Ratu Wiliame didn't name-names, but he stressed that decorum in parliamentary debates had an effect on inter-ethnic relations.
