Survivors of the Papua New Guinea landslide in Enga Province have been told to stop digging for bodies due to health and safety concerns.

A preliminary report by the Department of Mineral Policy and Geohazard management regarding the landslide disaster in Yambili village, has been released outlining a number of recommendations.

The area has officially been deemed a no-go zone with a very high likelihood of further landslides in the near future.

RNZ Pacific's Eleisha Foon spoke with World Vision Program Operations Director for PNG, Godfrey Bongomin about the developments.
