The new secretary general of the Pacific Islands Forum is seriously concerned about the ongoing unrest in Kanaky/New Caledonia and France's handling of the situation.
In his first press briefing, Secretary General Baron Waqa says the Forum hopes to step up its engagement with Paris ahead of the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders meeting in Tonga in August.
