More police equipment has been sent to the troubled New Caledonian capital this week where another death has occurred amid ongoing unrest in the French Territory.
The French High commission in Noumea confirmed the arrival of the armoured vehicles, trucks and other equipment on Thursday.
Earlier in the week the nephew of the president of New Caledonia's Congress, Roch Wamytan, was shot and killed in a shootout with police at St Louis just outside the capital Noumea adding to tensions in the territory.
