An anti-deep sea mining campaigner in Papua New Guinea says Prime Minister James Marape has lied to the country by saying he supports a moratorium on deep sea mining.
Jonathan Mesulam coordinator for Alliance of Solwara Warriors says a vessel was conducting seabed exploration in PNG waters.
This is despite Mr Marape calling for a pause on deep sea mining in 2019.
Mr Mesulam told RNZ Pacific's Caleb Fotheringham the organisation will have no choice but to retaliate if exploration continues.
