Critter of the Week Mountain Stone Weta / Hemideina maori

From Afternoons, 3:32 pm on 5 July 2019

Nicola Toki - Doc's Threatened Species Ambassador joins the programme today to tell us all about the Mountain Stone Weta.

They can be found in many central mountain ranges on South Island of New Zealand, in the alpine zone above the tree line in the scree slopes high in the Southern Alps.

Although classified as a tree weta, they actually live in tree-less places – tune in to find out more!

There are TWO DAYS LEFT for you to take the Garden Bird Survey - you can find all the details here.
