The 'founding father' of the MetService

From Afternoons, 1:30 pm on 14 February 2022

Following on from a weekend of wild weather, we look back at the history of our MetService and the man who's become known as the founding father of the organisation.

Edward Kidson was Director of the Meteorological Service of New Zealand, as it was then known, from 1927 until his death in 1939.

Jesse speaks to meteorologist and budding historian, Ciaran Doolin, who's been awarded a scholarship to study Kidson and his work.
