Today marks 140 years since our first export of frozen sheep to the UK - a lot has changed since then.
It's also 100 years this year since the New Zealand Meat board was established, an industry that in that time has gone through many transformations.
To mark the centenary a series of books have been commissioned looking at the challenges, changes and innovation by the sheep and meat sector.
The third book is covering the last 25 years for the industry and will be out at the end of June. It's called Meeting Change: the NZ Red Meat Story 1997-2022 and was co-authored by Ali Spencer who talks to Wallace.
